Dreams lurking
Haunting waking moments
With veiled memories
Of ecstasies
Imagined,
Of raptures
That transcend
Every description
The waking mind
Could conjure,
Fueling moments
Of weakness
Of both body
And mind,
Slashing reality
And reticence,
A storm
Without thunder,
Sweeping across
Consciousness
Leaving beauty
And madness
In its path
Of destruction
And rebirth,
Carving chasms
In reason
And distorting
What the mind
Believes it knows.
Cracking the very
Foundation
Which this life
Was built upon,
Enticing the soul
To new heights
To sing of
And new lows
To draw
Inspiration from.
Rarely speaking,
Simply existing.
And saying more
In silence
Than a thousand
Screaming voices
Proclaiming all
They think
They know.
